In March 31st, by the strong support of the China Ministry of Science and Technology(CMST), the Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, the Shenzhen Institute of the Third Generation Semiconductor(SITGS) was launched by the Industrial Technology Innovation Strategic Alliance of Third Generation Semiconductor(ITISATGS), the TYSiC, the Southern University of Science and Technology(SUST) and other organizations at Shenzhen. This is another landmark event after China Industrial Southern Base of Third Generation Semiconductor(CISBTGS) settled in Dongguan in September 2016. The establishment of SITGS will have a positive and profound effect on the development of the third generation semiconductor industry in China and even in the world.

    Former Vice Minister of Science and Technology, director of ITISATGS, chairman of SITGS Cao Jianlin, Guangdong Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee Wang Weizhong, deputy Secretary of Shenzhen Municipal Party Committee and Mayor Chen Rugui, former Director of  Department of High and New Technology Development and Industrialization of the Ministry of Science and Technology, vice director of ITISATGS, director of SITGS Zhao Yuhai, deputy Director of  Department of High and New Technology Development and Industrialization of the Ministry of Science and Technology Cao Guoying,  director of Department of Science and Technology of Guangdong Province Wang Ruijun, President of SUST Chen Shiyi, the GM of TYSiC Li Xiguang and other leaders and experts attended this convention.

    The leaders and experts pointed out that the third generation of semiconductor research and development work is the top priority of national scientific research program, not only through the '12th Five-Year' and '13th Five-Year' plans, but also the following major research projects in the next five-year-plan will continue to focus on this. With the application of new materials, our country will have the opportunity to succeed in the whole semiconductor field, and change the current industry status which is greatly dependent on the import. With the establishment of SITGS, the related enterprises, universities and institutions shall work closely to promote the research and development of the third generation of semiconductors.

    As one of the most important builders of CISBTGS, the first and leading company for the R&D, production and sales of SiC epitaxy wafer in China, TYSiC is one of the initiators of  SITGS.
